The end of the first cour (cour = 12 episodes) has been announced in episode 12 of the TV anime "Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri". The second cour of anime will begin airing in January 2016, and will cover "Ark Flame Dragon Arc".
The story begins sometime in the 21st century, when a portal known as the"Gate" appears in the Ginza district in Tokyo, where monsters and knights of the Middle Ages of Europe and other and other fantasy beings begin pouring down from the portal and begin killing people in Tokyo.This event is known as the Ginza Incident.
The TV anime series are produced by GENCO, directed by Takahiko Kyōgoku (Love Live! School idol project) and the series composition by Tatsuhiko Urahata (Black Bullet) and the characters are designed by Jun Nakai (Silver Spoon).
